BECC well beaten by North Harrow

Belmont & Edgware suffered a 10-wicket defeat in a friendly match against North Harrow.

In bright, sunny conditions, a 10-man Belmont and Edgware opted to bat first on the slow, uneven Old Lyonians wicket. Openers Blasebalk and Mayer applied themselves well against some skilful new ball bowling and after five overs the score had reached a steady, if unspectacular 10.

Bowlers put MAL in a spin

Spin twins Simon Cohen and Grant Reingold inspired London Maccabi Vale to a 39-run victory over MAL in Division One of the Middlesex Sunday League.

Earlier, Danny Caro hit an unbeaten 93 off 106-balls as LMV posted 196-3.

Brilliant Brickman inspires LMV 2nds

A superb spell of bowling from Josh Brickman inspired London Maccabi Vale 2nd to a three-wicket win over Highgate Irregulars in a friendly match.

On a wicket and outfield that could have benefited from an extra mow, Vale skipper Nigel Rothband won the toss and offered Highgate first use of the facilities.

Sri Lanka Tel Aviv lengthened their unbeaten run to four games, to move clear at the top of Division One of the Israel Day Cricket League with maximum points.

Petah Tikva have been finding life tough in the top flight, and Saturday was no different as they slumped to a 108-run defeat to the Lankans, dismissed for 117 in pursuit of 225.

Last-wicket pair save MAL in thriller

MAL played out an entertaining drawn game with their landlords, Old Camdenians, on Sunday.

Skipper Yoav Lebens won the toss and chose to field, and the Old Cams batters were soon under pressure at 7-3, with good catching in the slip cordon from Mark Landau and Jack Winton, followed up by Lebens hitting the stumps, giving the skipper the first three wickets.

Averbuch and Monk steer BECC home

Belmont & Edgware CC started their new era with a hard-fought win over Chigwell.

BECC captain Ryan Monk, the new man in charge, asked his predecessor, Warren Averbuch, to start the attack. After the first few overs runs came flowing due to wides and boundaries, but Averbuch finally found his line and length and four top-order wickets followed, and finished with 4-32.
