Blatt can’t get credit

The Cleveland Cavaliers have qualified for the NBA play-offs for the first time since 2010 by finishing second in the Eastern Conference with 50 wins and 27 defeats.

But Israeli coach David Blatt is not getting credit from the pundits. An ESPN panel ranked him 19 out of 30 coaches in the NBA – below five coaches of teams that did not even qualify for the 16-team play-offs.

The 26 year-old Israeli point guard made his debut in the Pelicans' 120-100 defeat to the LA Clippers and then helped his team beat the LA Lakers 104-87 on Sunday night, scoring his first two points for the club, and making four assists during 12 minutes on the court.


Blatt’s blast lifts LeBron

David Blatt insists a kick up the backside had the desired affect after LeBron James put in a scintillating performance as Cleveland Cavaliers registered their first win of the NBA season.

After losing their opener 98-92 against the New York Knicks, Blatt’s words saw James put in a real shift against the Chicago Bulls, with the four times MVP scoring 36 points in a 114-108 victory.
