League leaders Chigwell Athletic suffered a major blow to their MMFL title hopes as they went down to Waldaf Town.

Player-manager Richard Slater had put Chigwell ahead in the first half, but a second-half brace from Alex Bourne capped what assistant-manager Jez King described as a "superb performance" at Silver Jubilee Park.

Winning mentality can inspire Team GB, says Rackind

Robert Rackind has been appointed chairperson for Team GB’s Squash teams for the 20th Maccabiah Games.

Rackind has won gold at the Maccabiah both as a player and a manager and he is confident his experiences of the Games will lift the squad to new heights.

"Competing for my country at the Maccabiah was one of the greatest experiences of my life,” said Rackind.

Hoban keeps Beer Sheva in charge

Hapoel Be’er Sheva remain on course to win the Ligat Ha’Al title for the first time in 40 years following a 1-1 draw against nearest rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Carlos Garcia headed Maccabi in front but Ovidiu Hoban equalised 14 minutes later as Hapoel maintained their one-point advantage.

Hemed keeps Brighton on track for Premier Division

Super-sub Tomer Hemed guided Brighton & Hove Albion into second place in the Championship with a second-half double earning a 2-1 victory over MK Dons.

The Israeli striker put Brighton in front from the penalty spot within four minutes of coming on and he headed home his 15th goal of the season in all competitions 10 minutes later.

Stone sparkles in U16 race at Jerusalem 10k

David Stone won the under-16 trophy at the Jerusalem 10K, finishing 68 seconds ahead of the 531-strong field.

Competing in his first race over the distance, Stone, 14, broke the tape in a time of 37:53 for the hilly and demanding road course to place 10th out of 7,364 runners overall.
