Neil Myeroff claimed his 100th wicket for his fifth different team last weekend.

Having achieved the landmark representing Carmel College, Old Carmelis, Mowbray and Belmont, Myeroff notched up his latest century for Belmont & Edgware against Haryom in the Middlesex Sunday League Division Two. He finished with figures of 4-20 in a seven-wicket victory.


Benayoun joins Arsenal

Yossi Benayoun has joined Arsenal. A dramatic day of negotiations ended on Wednesday night when the Israel captain signed a one-year loan deal at the Emirates.

Having been linked with moves to Spurs, Liverpool and Lille, Benayoun flew into Heathrow airport on Wednesday morning and completed his transfer from Chelsea just hours before the transfer window closed.

Belmont & Edgware 1st maintained promotion hopes with a nail-biting seven-run victory over Haryom in the Middlesex Sunday League Division Two.

After losing the toss, BECC openers Goodman and Abrahams started positively, with the pair finding some early form and accelerating the score to 30 until Abrahams fell to the opening bowler.


Sela to face Federer at US Open

Dudi Sela will play Roger Federer in the second round of the US Open after coming through a five-set thriller at Flushing Meadows.

Sela came from two sets down to beat world No. 35 Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil 4-6, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-0.

Federer breezed through his first-round clash against Santiago Giraldo in straight sets.


Maccabi Tel Aviv to play Stoke

Maccabi Tel Aviv have been drawn against Stoke City in the group stage of the Europa League.

Maccabi will travel to Britannia on October 20 in what will be the third group match for both teams.

Tony Pulis’s troops visit Tel Aviv for the return match on November 3.

Besiktas and Dynamo Kiev complete the group.

Maccabi start their campaign against Besiktas in Turkey on September 15.

Shahar Peer's prepararations for next week's US Open suffered a blow as she sank to an embarrassing defeat at the Texas Open.

Peer, who is ranked 24 in the world, was blown away by Sweden's Johanna Larsson 6-2 6-4.

Larsson, who sits 40 places below Peer in the rankings, was just the latest player to inflict more pain on the Israeli.
