GB hit for six by Lithuania

Jonny Cohen’s GB Open futsal squad were on the receiving end of a Lithuanian master-class as the red-hot favourites romped to a 6-1 victory in the semi-final.

Lithuania got off to a flying start, taking the lead with their first attack after just two minutes. They cut the GB defence to rippons with their pace, power and movement making them too hot to handle.

Girl power as GB win first football medal

Goals from Sara Lyons, Samantha Miller and Michaela Green saw GB Ladies claim their first-ever Open football medal as they overcame Germany 3-1 on Monday afternoon.

With the USA having run away with the competition, GB went head to head with the Germans in what was effectively a playoff for silver. The loser would go home empty-handed.

It's GB versus Germany for gold

GB Open football confirmed their place in tomorrow’s gold medal match against Germany with an emphatic 8-1 victory over the hosts at SK Hakoah.

James Gershfield fired a double to take his tally to six goals in the competition. TJ Keterman bagged a brace with other goals coming from Michael Sacks, Daran Bern, Ben Ellis and a worldie from Adam Stolerman.

It's a one-two for GB junior badminton boys

David Garcia was crowned champion of Europe after winning an all-GB final at Club Danube in Vienna.

Taking part in his first European Maccabi Games, Garcia, 15, beat Yossi Goodlink to take the gold in the Junior Boys badminton final.

A national country player, Garcia is currently ranked 20. He reached a high of 15.

Barnett bonanza keeps GB on course for Masters final

A brilliant hat-trick from Gideon Barnett kept GB’s Masters team on course for their first-ever gold medal as they came from behind to rock Gibraltar 9-2.

In a must-win game for both teams, GB quickly found themselves two goals behind but they drew level during the first half courtesy of strikes from Barnett and an own goal.

Tammam’s effort not enough for Manchester Maccabi

Ray Tammam's brave innings failed to prevent Manchester Maccabi from falling to defeat against Stretford Friends in the Greater Manchester Amateur League.

During a rain-affected game, Tammam took three wickets and hit a classy 34 but Maccabi still slumped to a 69-run loss against an in-form Stretford.

Livewire Lebens fires MAL to victory

Yoav Lebens produced a batting masterclass to propel MAL to within sight of the Division Two Middlesex Sunday Cricket League title.

Lebens smashed 71 off just 48 balls as MAL eased to a 45-run victory over fellow challengers SKLP.

Liverwire Lebens hit three huge sixes and six boundaries on his way to racking up a fourth half-century from five games.

Evans turns on the style for Belmont

Jonny Evans hit a stunning half-century as Belmont and Edgware 1st recorded a second consecutive league victory.

In-form Evans smashed a classy 50 as BECC defeated West Middlesex by five-wickets after easily reaching their target of 141.

Having seen off Kensington and Chelsea last week, Belmont flexed their muscles once again with another dominant display.
