Centurions sparkle for LMV

Centuries from Joseph Greenwall-Cohen and Adam Brand helped London Maccabi Vale 1st XI open their Chess Valley League season with an emphatic 217-run victory over Chesham 2nd XI.

Captain Neil Lederman finally won a toss and with not a cloud in the sky, made no hesitation to bat first.

South Manchester claimed a thrilling 17-run victory over Olympics in a low-scoring encounter in the Greater Manchester League.

In a remarkable contest, South came out the winners when all looked lost. Put into bat on a drying wicket following heavy rain, South made the worst possible start when Ray Tammam was out to the first ball of the innings.

Benjamin and Bloomberg lift Salford

An outstanding spell from 17-year-old fast bowler Jamie Benjamin and off-spinner Ross Bloomberg earned Salford Blue Jays a tremendous victory against Wilmslow at St Paul’s.

The ‘B’s stung Wilmslow, with Benjamin - making his first appearance of the season - and Bloomberg taking four wickets apiece as Salford came back from what looked an under-par first innings score.

Israel reach U19 Euro finals

Substitute Sagiv Jehezkel's fired a 69th minute winner to send the Israelis into the eight-team finals for the

Benayoun rejoins Maccabi Haifa

Yossi Benayoun has signed a two-year deal with Maccabi Haifa worth $1 million.

The 34-year-old Israeli midfielder left Haifa in 2002 for a European career with Racing Santander in Spain and then nine years in England from 2005 with West Ham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and QPR.

Pearl Dental win Israel Night League

Pearl Dental Cricket Club lifted the Israel Night League title for the fourth time following a thrilling contest against Kiddush Club Jerusalem.

In a night of high quality cricket, the scoreline 105-59, looks very one sided, but Kiddush Club were in the game until three overs from the end when they lost quick wickets trying to accelerate the score.

Young Lions feel the heat in Israel

London Maccabi Lions under-15's rounded off the season with a tour to Israel.

Manager Darren Dryer led the 11-player squad into an eight-team tournament at the American School in Even Yehuda.

The competition, organised each year by the Ben Dror family, is played in memory of former national team player Israel Ben Dror.

Promotion is key, says Lederman

Neil Lederman has set his sights high as London Maccabi Vale prepare for the Chess Valley League campaign.

LMV were awarded a double promotion after finishing runners-up in Division Seven last season – their first campaign in the league.

Lederman believes an injection of youth will lead the Rowley Lane team to great things this term.

Aron Sharpe expressed delight after Wingate & Finchley were granted a reprieve from relegation.

The FA and the Ryman League confirmed that Wingate shall rejoin the Ryman Premier Division for season 2014/15 following the resignation of Worksop Town from the Northern Premier, which left one spare place at Step 3 which comes to the Blues as the highest ranked team on 'points-per-game'.
