Lions land the double

London Lions Under Nines have won the league and cup double.
They claimed the West Herts League Yellow Division and the West Herts League Junior League Cup.
Jack Bluston (3) and Jonathan Lubin struck in the 4-0 win at Tring Tornadoes Blue and their title success was confirmed with a 5-0 victory over Leverstock Green Cedars with goals from Elan Brooks 2, Jonathan Lubin, Jonah Miller and Jordan
Mansoor. The clinched the title with a game to spare after recording 15 wins and two draws from 17 matches.
A man-of-the-match display from keeper Daniel Simon helped Lions win the Junior League Cup final against Chorleywood at Everett Rovers FC. With no goals in normal and extra time, the match was decided on penalties. Charlie Ruff and Jacob Lauder converted for the Lions with Simon keeping out three efforts
Lions manager Nick Davis said: “The boys have shown commitment, flair, resilience and genuine ability in equal measure and we are so proud of them. The league and cup double has been won by all the hard work put in by the boys not only on a Sunday but, often, on cold and wet Wednesday nights at training."
