Rugby Team GB’s rugby team won its final trial match against a Middlesex County XV held at Kingston RFC, ahead of the Maccabiah Games.
GB ran in six tries in a 36-20 success win in hot conditions against a strong and experienced opponent. Following an even first half, Middlesex took a 20-19 lead into the last quarter but the GB team showed its strength and fitness with a further three quick tries to complete a fine victory.

Head Coach Simon Culley said that he was “very pleased with the performance, particularly as the majority of the tries were scored from moves worked in training and that the team had moved on to a higher level since their last game against Finchley in May”.

The tries were scored by Guy Tyler, Andrew Gillman, Ben Allin, Ben Chamberlain (2) and Robert Seltzer. Saul Zulman sent over two conversions and Mike Filson another.
