de Beck Spitzer steers NWLJ home

December 10, 2012

A hat-trick from Raphael de Beck Spitzer saw North West London Jets under-13s grab their second consecutive league win by 3 goals to 1 against Letchmore in the Excel Academy League.

Letchmore started the league clash the stronger as they dominated the first half. However, they were unable to break down the NWLJ defence.

North West London Jets opened the scoring against the run of play after Akiva Restan won the ball deep in his own half and released de Beck Spitzer in behind the Letchmore defence. He chased the loose ball, putting the Letchmore goalkeeper under pressure, causing him to miskick his attempted clearance, allowing de Beck Spitzer to slot the ball into the back of the net.

The second half saw NWLJ return to form as they dominated possession. de Beck Spitzer snatched his second shortly after the interval, following a Letchmore goal-kick which fell to the feet of de Beck Spitzer who struck the ball sweetly into the bottom right hand corner.

The Jets third and de Beck Spitzer's hat-trick came midway through the second half, with de Beck Spitzer striking the ball from the edge of the penalty area beyond the reach of the Letchmore keeper and into the bottom corner.

With the Jets 3-0 ahead, Letchmore came back fighting, with a shot rattling the post from the edge of the penalty area only for the rebound to fall to a striker to grab a deserved consolation goal.

North West London Jets held on to their lead and de Beck Spitzer was deservedly named Man of the Match.
