Silver-lining as Camden progress
PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND ONE
SOUTHGATE HARMEN 1 CAMDEN PARK 4
Richard Silver continued his purple patch in front of goal with a brace in the 4-1 victory over Division One rivals Harmen at Ashmole School.
Silver converted a penalty and scored another, with Rob Hershkorn and Josh Toff also on the mark.
Sam Castle registered for Harmen.
Camden manager Josh Marks told JC Sport: "It was a fantastic performance from the team and I think several players deserve mentions including alex springer, Michael khalastchi and guy marks as well as the goal scorers.
"Yossi made his debut for us in goal after Max Shields signed for us from Neasden and, after causing much unrest amongst the squad, swiftly left."
Camden's Nick Kagan told JC Sport: "It was a solid performance. We controlled the game from the first minute to the last. Everyone played well, we took Harmen's sometimes over-physical approach in our stride although we never really needed to hit top gear.
"Harmen never got going, but it was clear they have a good attitude and some talented players. We expect two good games when we face them in the league later in the season.
"Again, fingers crossed for one of the big boys in the next round."
Harmen boss Dan Uzan told JC Sport: "Camden deserved the win. They played really well with a lot of energy and determination. Despite the scoreline, we actually played OK, but too many individual mistakes cost us.
"As much as we all wanted a cup run, the league is the focus. We know what to expect when we face Camden in the league and I will do everything I can to make sure we are better prepared for that game."
