Aly Raisman became the first Jewish athlete to win a medal at the 2012 London Olympics, while Lee Korzits made an impressive start in the Windsurfing competition.

Team captain Aly Raisman helped the USA win gold in the Women's Team Artistic Gymnastics competition at North Greenwich Arena.

Israel's Alice Schlesinger’s hopes of winning gold were crushed in brutal fashion after she suffered a comprehensive defeat against Urska Zolnir.

Schlesinger had earlier beaten Austria’s Hilde Drexler in the last 16 of the under-63kg category and her medal hopes were finally quashed by Emane Gevrise of France in the repechage.

Shahar Zubari held 10th position after the first two rounds of the Men's competition.

Israel's top medal hope Lee Korsitz won her first race in the Women's event in her first action of the Games.

The double world champion finished the day in second place overall following after taking third in the second event.

Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich were frustrated by the weather as they looked to reach round three when they take on Swiss duo Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka at Wimbledon.
