There were victories for Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys and Pearl Dental Cricket Club in the latest round of Israel Night League Cricket action.

With all the rain that Israel has experienced over the last three weeks, it is a small miracle that the the Night League has managed to get through most of the fixtures uninterrupted.

Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys cemented their place at the top of the table with an exciting 13-run win over Gold Insurance Bet Shemesh Lightning.

PJGOB showed that they are true title contenders after beating the much improved Gold team. The Gold team managed to beat the Modi'in EasyIsrael team in a very entertaining match on a bitterly cold evening. Choosing to bat first, the Gold team posted 74 and then restricted MEI to 54.

Gold have now moved up to fourth on the table and are pushing for a place in the top three playoffs, while MEI slipped to fifth.

Gold skipper Alan Wigman said: "We played good cricket and are now focused on winning our remaining fixtures ensuring a place in the playoffs.

"Michael Morris, MEI skipper was left frustrated as he saw his team throw away a victory that at one stage looked like inevitably. He said: "Yet again we played some excellent cricket, but unfortunately, we played them in brief patches. We have to ensure that we put in a much improved performance, all-round in the game against KAT next week."

Youngsters, Bet Shemesh Royals continued on their steep learning curve as they were comprehensively beaten by last years champions, Pearl Dental Cricket Club.

Winning the toss, BSR captain, Yonni Sidelsky chose to bat and saw his team reach a below than par 37 as some poor shot selection and inexperience shown by the youngsters gave the PDCC the upper hand.

Pearl came out to bat and completely dominated proceedings amassing a hefty total of 153 to record their second win this season and maintain pressure on current leaders PJGOB.

Thursday's match sees KAT Israemploy take on Pommeranz Juice Good Old Boys in what promises to be a thrilling match.
