Hamilton Court FX Olim League
England A 1 England B 0

A 75th minute strike from Team GB star Motti Colman earned England A victory over England B in the Hamilton Court FX League.

The first competitive fixture between these two sides took place on Saturday night and proved to be a very tight affair.

Both sides were missing several players but the A's were boosted by guest appearances from Brad Bernstein, the clubs record goal-scorer, and Motti Colman of Hendon United Sports Club A.

The A's started brightly with some excellent work from their midfielders JJ and Zac helping them to push forward and have some attempts on goal. But it certainly was not one-sided as the B's strikers Assaf and Omri were interchanging nicely and creating attacking chances for the B's as well.

Both sets of players failed to capitalise on their possession in a match played on a very wet surface and the B's were comfortable watching several chances from the A's miss the target.

The A’s have had problems with getting goals this year and Roy Ben Zihou and Aviv continued to struggle to finish against the B's.

Buoyed by a rallying half-time teamtalk from player-manager Yoni Sidy, England A started to work the B's harder at the start of the second half, but England B player-boss Clifford Corney and co were playing very deep defensive line and their goalkeeper, Roee, looked unbeatable as he stopped a series of strikes from Colman, Lewis Kaye and others.

While England A dominated possession, the B's were still in this game and their forwards were counter-attacking with great intent and causing all sorts of problems for a the tiring England A

Things started to get tense as a few rash tackles resulted in yellow cards for both sides and with 15 minutes left on the clock the game seemed destined to be a bore draw.

But the A's knew that winning would put them top of the table at Christmas and were desperate to end the year where they started - as champions.

And who better to help them realise this ambition than the England Futsal captain, Motti Colman. He rose high to plant home a peach of a header at the back post to put his team in front.

England B pressed for an equaliser in the closing stages but they were kept out by some great defending from England centre backs Tomer and Sidi as the A's held out for maximum points.
