Watford Friendly League Challenge Cup Round Two
Pinner JFC 4 Hadley Rangers 1

Pinner JFC’s Under 9s marched on to the third round of the WFL Challenge Cup with a comfortable 4-1 win over Hadley Rangers to see them through to the last 16.

The Sky Blues started well by immediately applying the pressure, kicking uphill and into the wind.

Ten minutes into the game and a long-range pile driver from holding midfielder Noah Abrahams opened the scoring with the ball finding the top left-hand corner of the Rangers net.

Pinner continued to press home the advantage and came close on a few occasions, but Rangers caught the Sky Blues on the break and scored just before half time to bring the score level.

In the second half and with the wind behind them, Pinner took full advantage and Abrahams added to his tally with a virtually exact replica of his first to give his team the advantage.

Coming on as a substitution, Jake Greenfield with a fresh pair of legs tore into the opposition and scored two very well-taken goals within three minutes, jinking this way and that to beat the Rangers defence with two solo runs.

The Sky Blues defended well and that reflected in the man-of-the-match being awarded to left back Guy Appel after his resolute and probably best performance to date.

Pinner now face stiffer opposition in the next round, but now have to focus on maintaining top spot in their league campaign.
