Edwards eyes future glory

Trafford athlete Ellie Edwards, 14, trimmed 0.3 seconds from her personal best in the semi-finals of the English Schools Under 15 200 m Championships at Gateshead. Her time of 25.82 raised her to 17th in the UK age-group rankings. Tantalisingly she missed qualifying for the finals by a mere 0.02 seconds.

"I was thrilled to run my PB when under pressure in a major championships," she said. I am really looking forward to the future".
