Skipper Michael Sacks, Adam Lavin, Mark Wolfe, Josh Lewis and Rafi Leeker all successfully converted from the spot.

Alex Levack, the Faithfold captain, netted Faithfold's first spot-kick with Simon Lawrence, Lorian Madanes and Dan Howard also converting but the crucial miss came from Rocky Spitzer who saw his effort strike the crossbar.

Faithfold boss Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "We dominated possession for the full 120 and felt we deserved something more in 120 minutes

"We hit the woodwork three times had numerous chances saved of the line, and their goalkeeper made a few good saves.

"It was very competitive match played in good spirit. I felt that we definitely deserved to win.

"We will be back, What the trip did was bring the boys together and their unity will bode well for next year.

"We may one or two but I have a fantastic bunch of boys who did themselves proud."

Manchester joint-manager Stuart Delmonte told JC Sport: "Faithfold were the better team on the day but even though we hadn't practiced penalties, we held our nerve and for the first time ever, I broke down in tears at the final whistle."

DC Prediction: Manchester Maccabi 1st 1 Faithfold A 0

The result saw Glenthorne edged out of the automatic promotion places for the first time this season as Blizzard Storm finished as runners-up.

Jubilant Borehamwood boss Oluseun Thomas told JC Sport: "I am elated and am extremely proud to be manager of Inter. We have come together and shown true unity all season to take the title as champions in our debut season.

"We new our goal from the beginning of the season and kept that in mind in every game of season and the focus was our key threat.

"In today performance Michael Mirelman showed pure class pulling off match winning save after save. Working on his shot-stopping this week in training was fruitful. As every week training in good numbers has shown to make a massive difference for our side. This has truly impacted and made a real camaraderie.

"The back four were excellent in silencing Reveccio also to reduce Glenthorne to making most attempts from range.

"Jerome Colmans stepped up and showed true composure and why he is Inter's top-scorer with 20 goals by putting away the first half penalty to take us in 1-0 at half time.

"I always new we were capable of winning the leauge so I do believe we were worthy of the title.

"Johnny Meltzer showed a true captain's performance by lifting the moral after conceding to give us the confidence we could still push on and get a winner.

"Adam Lenz came on and made a real impact by scoring to regain the lead and then Ben Zloof giving us the extra cushion by showing great execution to make it tougher for Glenthorne to get back into it.

"It then was left to our midfield - Joe Levy, Nick Smith and Adam Newman - to get themselves about pulling off some superb challenges to make it a dog-fight and put the game to bed.

"I was quietly confident we could win the game if we stayed calm and concentrated on the game rather than the title. We showed true composure and did that Mark Wayne being instrumental at cleaning up most aerial threats, with Johnny Meltzer cleaning up around him.

"Now we're looking ahead to next season. We will look to strengthen in only certain places but will only look to add quality.

"I have to say that every player in the squad was instrumental in us winning the title and a big thank you to our sponsors, Daniel Leigh and Vision Teaching as their contribution was crucial to us being able to afford the financing of the club."

Outgoing Thornes boss Elliot Coulton was unhappy with the award of a penalty, converted by Colmans.

Coulton told JC Sport: "I feel the ref cost us the league. I ask for him to be changed and the league said no. It's a disgrace."

DC Prediction: Inter Borehamwood 2 Glenthorne Utd B 1
