Two goals from Dany Kon helped Los Blancos record one of the biggest upsets in Jewish football history as they stunned Premier Division Neasden B 3-2 to reach the semi-finals of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup.

With four divisions seperating the teams, Blancos felt only slightly better to learn Neasden would be fielding a weakened side.

The early possession was dominated by Joel Minsky's men and the opening goal came against the run of play. A long Neasden throw was flicked by Rob Bloch into the far corner.

Los Blancos responded by upping the tempo and the equaliser was not only well deserved but an absolute screamer. Kon picked the ball up 25 yards out on the left, stepped inside a hit a high dipping ferocious drive straight into the top corner - a carbon copy of his goal against NL Raiders earlier in the season.

NWN had a penalty appeal turned down before half time but offered very little going forward against a brave and strong Blancos backline.

The second half delievered more of the same. Blancos were on top and dominating the play. NWN B had a long throw fly straight into the far corner. A goal kick was correctly awarded.

LB then took a shock lead as Sami Birnbaum was then played through and after beating a defender slotted the ball expertley into the net.

NWN were rocking. A superb run down the left from Adam Hersh was emphatically powered home by the head of the impressive dany Kon.

3-1 up and 25 minutes to go Neasden started to throw men forward. Some fine stops from keeper Josh Cohen maintained the advantage until a goal-mouth scramble following a corner allowed Neasden to pull a goal back through Alex Bowman to set up a nail-biting last 10 minutes.

James Jospeh hit the post for the Blancos and the Neasden keeper made some fine saves from Blancos attacks on the break.

Ultimately, Los Blancos were too strong for Neasden today and run out 3-2 winners. A deserved victory that could have been by a wider margin.

Difficult to single anyone out for team of the week. Every single Blancos boy deserves to be in there but Dany Kon and James Joseph perhaps especially so.
