The JC MSFL has lost another team after first division Red Sea folded.

Following in the footsteps of Glenthorne United A, Bafana Bafana, AC Cricklewood, North West Neasden C and South Manx B, Red Sea withdrew after five years in the league which is now down to 49 teams.

Red Sea chairman Daniel Wynne said: “We have not been able to field a team for a few weeks now and have incurred a number of fines in the last two months, effectively bankrupting the club.

“We lost a lot of players to retirement through the start of this season and failed to recruit sufficient dedicated cover.

“We have enjoyed playing in the MSFL and thank the committee for all their effort in keeping the league running efficiently. The club apologizes that we unable to complete this season, even though it seems so close.”

League chairman David Wolff said: “I’m very disappointed. We must now look at reasons why so many teams have folded in one. If my committee can do something to try to mitigate it we will do it.”
