Avram Grant: approached by Hull City

Portsmouth manager Avram Grant has been approached to take over at Hull City, according to reports.

The Tigers are searching for a new manager after parting company with Phil Brown yesterday.

The Israeli has previously stated that he is committed to his role with the troubled South Coast club.

Last night, Portsmouth lost 4-1 against Liverpool but they are still in the FA Cup, awaiting the winner of the Fulham/Spurs replay.

Pompey are almost certain to be playing Championship football next season with a nine-point penalty for entering administration due to be handed down by the Premier League.

Hull plays Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Saturday.
