Engleman on song

Teenage striker Ricardo Engleman has made a great start to the South Midlands League Premier Division campaign, hitting four goals in five games for Hillingdon Borough.

Born in Pinner, Middlesex, Engleman, who has a Jewish father and Colombian mother, earned Boro a point with a 63rd minute header in the clash against leaders Dunstable Town.

The much-travelled marksman grew up in South Africa and Spain. He enjoyed a successful spell in Marbella where he became the first English player to play for San Pedro de Alcantara FC at men’s level and, aged 17, he finished top-scorer for the club’s Under 19 in the same season.

A talented all-round sportsman, Engleman has also played international junior cricket. He has represented Spain more than 30 times and was named top batsman and bowler at an Under 15 competition in Rome.
