Julia Glushko stormed into the third round of the Women's Singles at Roland Garros following a stunning win over world no. 22 Kirsten Flipkens.

Israel's Glushko showed no signs of tired from her first-round win over Donna Vekic - a match that lasted two-and-a-half hours - as she produced one of the best performances of her career and progress 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Glushko displayed some flawless tennis on Court 6, including two aces, no double faults and 27 winners.

She awaits the winner of Dinah Pfizenmaier and Sara Errani [10] in round three.

There was disappointment for Camila Giorgi who bowed out in straight sets against Svetlana Kuznetsova.

The Italian lost a first-set tie-break 7-5 before Kuznetsova eased home 6-3 in the second.

Jewish interest remains alive in the doubles competition, with Jonathan Erlich and Scott Lipsky progressing to round two of the Men's Doubles with their respective partners.
