National pride is up for grabs

Mill Hill are preparing to defend their National Shul League title at JFS later this month.

Having secured the senior crown with some flawless table tennis in the Maccabi GB-sponsored event 12 months ago, the Mill Hill squad, which includes Maccabiah stalwart Dov Katz, will be determined to see off rival teams, with strong challenges expected from Elstree and Borehamwood, Edgware and former winners Norrice Lea.

More than 120 players competed in 2012 and another big field is expected, including players from Gibraltar.

Radlett and Norrice Lea will be among the teams attempting to stop favourites Elstree and Borehamwood from winning the junior division for a third time.

JCC and Maccabiah talent will be on display, with the likes of Adam Black, Michael Gerard, Jonathan Stelzer, Sam Krisman and Judah Jackson keen to impress.

Maccabi GB are also running the Community Table Tennis Day for players of all standards, featuring coaching, exhibitions and a table tennis robot.
