Haifa and Tel Aviv avoid big guns

Israel's two Europa League entrants avoided the big guns in Friday's draw for the group stages.

Maccabi Haifa were rewarded for a 3-1 aggregate win over Astra with a place in Group L, alongside AZ Alkmaar, PAOK Thessaloniki and Shakhter Karagandy, who were edged out 3-2 by Celtic in the Champions League qualifiers.

Maccabi Tel Aviv have been drawn in Group F against Bordeaux, APOEL and Eintracht.
