JC MSFL DIVISION TWO
REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 4 ATHLETIC BILBAUM 1

Jon Jacobs' Redbridge B recorded one of the results of the day as they hammered title-chasing Bilbaum 4-1 at Fairlop.

Redbridge produced their most composed and comfortable performance of the season. There were terrific performances all round the pitch with Richie Caplin a colossus in the middle of the pitch aided by Ben Sollosi and wing play of a high level from both Harrison Grant and the Maccabiah-bound Scott Oldstein.

Redbridge started brightly and took an early lead with a simple tap-in from the ever alert Binder who led the line with pace and movement.

Goal two came from a simple through ball from Richie Caplin, Binder made up 30 yards and turned on the turbo charger to set up Oldstein for a composed finish.

RJC made it 3-0 just before half time with a drilled finish from the excellent Harrison Grant and the half time whistle blew.

With Jacobs asking the boys to keep it tight at the break, the RJC soaked up the pressure and then hit Bilbaum with a counter-attack of pace, power and precision. Man-of-the-match Richie Caplin broke down the right and drove deep into the Bilbaum half pursued by the flailing arms and legs of the Bilbaum midfielder. He drew the tackle and released Jimmy Castle wide right who delicately passed it virtually first time in to the six yard box where it was dispatched by the sheer strength of Binder for what was the goal of the game.

Bilbaum pinched a late consolation goal through Richard Angel

Bilbaum joint-player-manager Mark Pasha told JC Sport: "It was far from vintage from the Baums on a rainy February morning, somewhere near the outer Hebrides. We needed a lot more all over the park from what was already a thin squad, but you can only beat what's in front of you and Redbridge did that with aplomb today.

"No doubt a significant set back, but a Baum knows not when he's beaten ... on to next week."
