Haroldeans boss eyes Morrison quarter-finals spot

Haroldeans boss Fraser Saville wants his team to fulfil his ambition of claiming glory in the Peter Morrison Trophy.

The MJSL champions are set to take on MSFL Division One side Camden Park on Sunday in the National Round of the competition.

The Merseysiders arrive in the capital having not played for a month after the bad weather put pay to its recent fixtures.

But Saville says his men will be raring to go when they step out for their capital cup clash with Camden.

"It’s always been my ambition to do well in the Morrison and there’s no reason why we can’t get to the quarter-finals," he said.

"Last year, Hyde Park went down to London and beat Shirley Park so we know it is possible.

"If everyone’s available then we’ll have a strong team out and a really decent chance."

Haroldeans are currently fourth in the MJSL, eight points off the top with a game in hand.

But with the entire league facing a fixture pile-up, Saville is unsure whether his side can catch Republic of Flixton at the top.

"The weather has left us with the possibility of playing on Sunday, then Tuesday, then Thursday and Sunday again.

"That’s the scenario we might face around March time and it’s very difficult to see whether we can make up the ground on Republic.

"But hopefully we can go to London and put on a good performance and make it through."
