In Wolff's Words

Proud to have a vibrant league

By David Wolff, January 23, 2012

We are very proud that we have such a vibrant 49-team football league, but for me it makes life very difficult, if not impossible, to get round to all the teams within one season.

We're on course for an early finish

By David Wolff, November 28, 2011

We can regard ourselves as extremely lucky that, so far, the weather has been extremely kind and that no games have been postponed. Let us hope that this long continues and we can finish the season on time or even earlier.

I have really enjoyed all my visits this season and the quality of the football has been really good and I haven’t even been to a game in the Premier Division yet.

Some predictions have gone horribly wrong

By David Wolff, October 24, 2011

The weeks march on and more fixtures get played. The league tables are taking shape and some of my predictions are going completely wrong. Nothing new about that!

New teams have impressed

By David Wolff, September 12, 2011

The first two weeks of the season have passed and there really has been a mixed bag of results.

I have now seen three games, all in division four, and I am very pleased and impressed with the new teams that have joined the league. It is always refreshing to have new faces involved and this is why I am forever confident that the league will continue to flourish for years to come.

Reflections on the season

A word from the chairman

By David Wolff, November 30, 2010

The season has gone well so far but with the icy conditions that we endured last weekend and the forecast for the next few weeks, I would suspect that many matches will be cancelled.

All of our teams have now been eliminated from the FA and London FA competitions but it is fair to say that most have given a good account of themselves and I hope that they have benefited from the experience.

We still are running a strong league with 52 teams in membership and let no-one convince you that anything else is the case.

A word from the chairman

By David Wolff, September 13, 2010

Anyone would think that the Close Season is a quite time for everyone involved in football but nothing could be further from the truth.

I must admit that I have used June to take a complete rest from the league but now we have to set everything up for next season which includes interviewing new teams, deciding on the structure for the new season, which the Management Committee will discuss and then recommend to the AGM which is held to elect the leagues Committee and change the Rules of the League.
