In Wolff's Words

"Things are starting to hot up"

By David Woolf, December 31, 2012

We are now half way through the season and things are starting to ‘hot up’ with the potential winners and runners up emerging, as well as some relegation candidates.

We must keep our house in order

By David Wolff, October 22, 2012

The season is now 6/7 weeks old and it is now time for me to write my first article. The large 12-team divisions ensure a full programme for everyone to enjoy the next seven months with all the thrills and spills that football throws up. I won’t comment on individual teams suffice to say that I have enjoyed my visits around so far and have seen 12 of our members in action.

Reflecting on season 2012/13

By David Wolff, June 25, 2012

We are now almost at the end of June, with last season’s activities becoming a memory. The awards evening took place last Monday and although it could have been better attended, for those who did come they had a memorable and enjoyable evening.

We must all learn from Muamba

By David Wolff, March 29, 2012

Much of the football news over the last couple of weeks has been dominated by the incident involving Fabrice Muamba of Bolton Wanderers. Thankfully, highly qualified medics were on hand to save his life and steer him towards what we all hope will be a full recovery.

The standard is high at top-end of the league

By David Wolff, February 29, 2012

This season just seems to be whizzing by and we are now at the ‘business end of the season' with the promoted teams emerging.

Proud to have a vibrant league

By David Wolff, January 23, 2012

We are very proud that we have such a vibrant 49-team football league, but for me it makes life very difficult, if not impossible, to get round to all the teams within one season.

We're on course for an early finish

By David Wolff, November 28, 2011

We can regard ourselves as extremely lucky that, so far, the weather has been extremely kind and that no games have been postponed. Let us hope that this long continues and we can finish the season on time or even earlier.

I have really enjoyed all my visits this season and the quality of the football has been really good and I haven’t even been to a game in the Premier Division yet.

Some predictions have gone horribly wrong

By David Wolff, October 24, 2011

The weeks march on and more fixtures get played. The league tables are taking shape and some of my predictions are going completely wrong. Nothing new about that!

New teams have impressed

By David Wolff, September 12, 2011

The first two weeks of the season have passed and there really has been a mixed bag of results.

I have now seen three games, all in division four, and I am very pleased and impressed with the new teams that have joined the league. It is always refreshing to have new faces involved and this is why I am forever confident that the league will continue to flourish for years to come.

We are now in the early days of August. The Football League has begun. The Premiership starts this weekend and you are all preparing for the start of the Maccabi season next month.

So what have your committee been doing?
