Josh Bor wrote himself into Broughton folklore after firing the MJSL basement boys to their first victory of the season in the Tony Cohen Memorial Cup.
Sydney Fulda’s men pulled off a convincing 3-0 win over Leeds Maccabi 3rd to clinch their place in the semi-finals of the competition.
Bor opened the scoring for the home side before Osher Landes doubled Broughton’s advantage.
And Bor smashed home a third to give his side a deserved victory and set up a tie with Republic of Mancunia 1st in the last four.
Republic 1st eased to a 4-0 win over South Manchester SC 2nd in their quarter-final clash with Daniel Batton scoring twice.
Paul Basger and Dylan Sidle’s screamer sealed the win for the home side.
In the MJSL, Haroldeans require just two more points to win the league title after Sporting JLGB forfeited their match.
Sporting were unable to field a team due to injuries, university holidays and last-minute withdrawals.
Republic of Manchester 2nd claimed a 2-1 win over Crumpsall with Ben Blackston scoring both goals.
