MJSL round-up: March 11
Manchester Maccabi 3rd booked their place in the final of the Harold Feldman Trophy after producing a stunning performance to crush Haroldeans.
Steve Bentwood’s side had already beaten the Merseysiders on all three previous occasions this season, but their 6-0 victory sent shockwaves through the MJSL.
Daniel Rubinstein scored a spectacular hat-trick with Bobby Lee, Marc Magid and Jake Bentwood completing the rout.
Maccabi will now face Oakhill in the final at Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park with the Lions aiming to win the trophy for the third year in a row.
Oakhill defeated Republic of Mancunia 2nd, who finished the game with nine men after Andrew Shaffer and Brad Levy were sent off.
Daniel Bomsztyk gave the Manchester students an early lead only for Ben Blackston to equalise after seven minutes.
Shaffer was then given his marching orders by referee Adam Cohen for foul and abusive language with Levy also seeing red in the second half.
Harry Roache and Marc Maynard took advantage of the extra space to help Oakhill claim a 3-1 victory.
Meanwhile, in the MJSL, Leeds Maccabi 3rd picked up their second win of the season after shocking Sporting JLGB 3-2.
