South Manchester Sports Club 1st celebrate Bobby Abrams' winner against Miam Miam

Bobby Abrams kept South Manchester Sports Club 1st title hopes alive with a dramatic second half strike.

Abrams got the only goal of the game with 15 minutes remaining as South saw off rivals Miam Miam in a tussle between the top two in Manchester Accountants League.

South had to win to have any chance of successfully defending their league crown and Abrams ensured they remained in the hunt.

Leeds Maccabi 1st booked their place in the semi final of the Alliance Challenge Cup after thrashing New Unicorn Reserves 6-2.

Dan Ross scored twice with Elliot Jackson, Nick Vale, Richard Black and Adam Gilman completing the rout.

Leeds will face Bramley in the last four, the team which dumped them out of the competition at the quarter final stage last season.

In the MJSL, Republic of Flixton maintained its title tilt with a 6-0 thrashing of Oakhill.

Rob Jacobs hit a hat-trick with Jamie Lyons, Michael Leviten and Jacob Kleinman also on target.

Republic remain a point behind league leaders Manchester Maccabi 2nd following their 2-1 win over Leeds Maccabi 2nd.

Adam Herman and Daniel Rubinstein got the goals for Maccabi 2nd, who stay top but have played two games more. Rob Stone got the goal for Leeds.

Haroldeans edged out Crumpsall 3-2 thanks to a Jamie Harris double and Josh Silverberg’s strike. Michael Freedman got both for Crumpsall.

Alex Glassman and Jarod Cohen were the goal men for FC Cosmos as they overcame Manchester Maccabi 3rd 2-1. Marcus Buchanan replied for Maccabi 3rd.

In the Tameside League Division Two, Manchester Maccabi 1st suffered a 3-2 home defeat by AFC Broadhurst.
