Shabbat-friendly lifts are on their way up

By Candice Krieger, December 2, 2010

A leading lift company has secured a contract with the United Synagogue to install a lift in St John's Wood Synagogue, north London, that is in compliance with Shabbat law.

The deal with Amalgamated Lifts follows the success of a previous contract for a disabled lift at Stanmore and Cannons Park Synagogue.
