IJPS year-six pupils describe their year as very close-knit, despite the diversity of backgrounds and ethnicity. Several who joined in the past year did not speak English.

One is Jade Poitou, 10, who lived in France. "I didn't speak English but it has been very easy to learn here, and I have made friends," she said.

Stacey Solomon: I'm pregnant

X Factor finalist and I'm a Celebrity winner Stacey Solomon is expecting her second child.

The former King Solomon pupil, 22, announced she is three months pregnant with boyfriend of three years Aaron Barnham, 24.

The singer and TV presenter already has a three-year-old son Zac.

Ms Solomon had her first son aged just 19 and split with boyfriend Dean Cox.

Glimpse into a positive Redbridge future

Redbridge parents enjoyed a glimpse of the future as plans for the new Ilford Jewish Primary School were displayed at Monday's launch of the biggest Jewish capital project in the area.

The primary will be re-sited on the grounds of King Solomon High School, creating a campus for more than 1,400 children aged two to 19.

JLGB selected as citizenship trainer

The Jewish Lads' and Girls' Brigade will be one of 19 organisations leading national citizenship schemes from the summer of 2012.

JLGB will run a pilot scheme for Jewish and non-Jewish 16-year-olds from Redbridge and the surrounding area in a kosher and Shabbat-friendly environment.

The scheme will include adventure activities such as archery and abseiling.

£10m Redbridge project gets council green light

Redbridge Council has given the go-ahead for the borough's largest capital project for the Jewish community.

Ilford Jewish Primary School is to be relocated on the site of the King Solomon High in Barkingside in a £10 million development.

The move emerged out of a report into Jewish schooling commissioned by the Jewish Leadership Council.

Handing the Mike to Redbridge youth

Young volunteers were honoured at the sixth Jewish Care Youth Leadership Awards ceremony at Redbridge Jewish Community Centre.

The event, hosted by leadership co-ordinator Ashley Williams, paid tribute to Redbridge's young volunteers who are involved with the community through the Motivation, Inspiration, Knowledge and Education leadership programme.
