A striking series of artworks by a former pupil of the King Solomon High School in Redbridge are on exhibition at the London Jewish Cultural Centre to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

Ela Ward, 18, produced the exhibition, My Jewish Roots, as her commitment to "each new generation ensuring that the atrocities of the Holocaust are not forgotten".

Equalities Minister Lynne Featherstone joined Muswell Hill teenagers clearing litter from Cherry Tree Wood as part of a Mitzvah Day venture. Redbridge parents enjoyed a glimpse of the future as plans for the new Ilford Jewish Primary School were displayed at Monday's launch of the biggest Jewish capital project in the area.

The primary will be re-sited on the grounds of King Solomon High School, creating a campus for more than 1,400 children aged two to 19.
