Objectors seek further review of school plans

Changes delay eruv

A planning application for a Mill Hill eruv is being resubmitted to Barnet Council in the light of small-scale amendments.

Conditional planning consent for the religious boundary, enabling the observant to push or carry items on Shabbat, was granted in July. But a number of relatively minor alterations to the route required a full re-submission of the proposal.

Mill Hill school wins extra approval

Barnet planners have once again approved a proposal for permanent premises for the Etz Chaim Jewish Primary in Mill Hill after a procedural failure by the council invalidated the original application.

However, the enforced delay means that the free school is unlikely to open on the new site in September as intended, and will have to remain in its temporary accommodation until a "more probable"

Charedim plan free school

Plans are being drawn up for the first strictly Orthodox Jewish free school.

Rabbi Nesanel Lieberman, currently head of the Toras Hashem Primary in Hendon, is working to open another school in north-west London in September next year.
