Nightingale and Hammerson merge

Britain's largest residential home is planning to expand its specialist services to north London in a merger with another leading care home.

The union means that Hammerson House, based in Hampstead Garden Suburb, north-west London, and in part funded by the Hammerson family, will undergo a major refurbishment to bring it in line with Nightingale's expert nursing and dementia services.

Friends mourn London teen after tragic death

Friends have praised as "sweet and caring" a London Jewish teenager, Emily Weiss, who died yesterday.

Described by friends as a budding and talented actress, Ms Weiss, 14, was a Year 10 pupil at South Hampstead High School. More than 1000 people joined a Facebook group created in her memory.

Donated home gets a £1.5m revamp

A new West Hampstead home with a £1.5m refurbishment has been opened by Jewish Care for residents with long-term mental health problems.

Officially opened last week in the presence of the Chief Rabbi, Sidney Corob House on Fortune Green Road was donated by Elizabeth Corob, who owned the previous Westmount Jewish residential care home on the site with her husband Sidney.

US consults members on next Chief

A former FA executive who was prominent in England's bid for the 2018 World Cup has been called in to assist consultations over the role of the next Chief Rabbi.

Simon Johnson, vice-chairman of Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue, will administer the consultation process on behalf of the Chief Rabbinate Trust, which is responsible for Lord Sacks' office.
