Lubavitch drinks to revival

It is not the norm to have shots of vodka or whisky after the first course of an Anglo-Jewish charity dinner. Nor to have the bensching led by a Brit Award nominee.

But there was a palpable mood of celebration at the Chabad Lubavitch UK dinner at London’s Lancaster House on Monday.


Harrods says ‘I do’ to kosher wedding service

Harrods, the department store fit for royals, is now targeting every Jewish princess by advertising kosher weddings.

The store formerly owned by the
Al Fayed brothers, until it was bought by the Qatari royal family in 2010, has previously held several royal warrants.It has now gained another stamp of approval in the form of kosher certification from the Sephardi Kashrut authority.


Fergie moved by plight of Odessa home children

The Duchess of York, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Caprice were celebrity supporters of the inaugural dinner of the UK support group of Tikva Jewish children’s home in Odessa. Mitch and Jane Winehouse were also among almost 300 people at the Mayfair dinner, which raised £.1.1 million.
