Envoy joins shul's Shoah event

The Western Marble Arch Synagogue joined the Lithuanian authorities for an event marking the 70th anniversary of the liquidation of Vilnius Ghetto. Lithuanian ambassador Asta Skaisgiryte Liauškiene spoke of her government’s Shoah educational work.

Art by Bob Dylan to be shown in London for the first time

Artworks by Bob Dylan are to be shown by a gallery in Britain for the first time, it was announced this week.

Twelve new pastel portraits drawn by the rock legend will be displayed in the National Portrait Gallery in London in an exhibition called Bob Dylan: Face First.

Boris Johnson intervenes to resolve cable car row

London Mayor Boris Johnson has intervened in a row over the sponsorship of a major cable car project which appeared to discriminate against Israel.

Mr Johnson ordered Transport for London commissioner Sir Peter Hendy and the Emirates airline to remove a clause in the contract for the Emirates Air Line, as the cable car crossing the Thames in east London is known.
