Art by Bob Dylan to be shown in London for the first time

Artworks by Bob Dylan are to be shown by a gallery in Britain for the first time, it was announced this week.

Twelve new pastel portraits drawn by the rock legend will be displayed in the National Portrait Gallery in London in an exhibition called Bob Dylan: Face First.

Boris Johnson intervenes to resolve cable car row

London Mayor Boris Johnson has intervened in a row over the sponsorship of a major cable car project which appeared to discriminate against Israel.

Mr Johnson ordered Transport for London commissioner Sir Peter Hendy and the Emirates airline to remove a clause in the contract for the Emirates Air Line, as the cable car crossing the Thames in east London is known.

London Mayor Boris Johnson has intervened in a row over a controversial sponsorship deal between Transport for London and Emirates airline for the Thames cable car.

Emirates sponsors the cable car, but details of the contract show that TfL must abide by United Arab Emirates rules on having no ties to Israel or Israeli businesses.

There was no shortage of celebrity content at the gala dinner of special-needs educational charity Kisharon as impressionist Jon Culshaw entertained the 750 turnout with impersonations of Boris Johnson, Prince Charles, Tony Blair and Arsene Wenger, to name but four. Another special guest was Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who regaled guests with tales of Antarctic exploration.
