B'nai B'rith thanks duo behind Heritage Days

The Byzantine architectural style of the West London Synagogue was a fitting venue to host an award ceremony for the B'nai B'rith UK co-ordinators of the European Days of Jewish Culture and Heritage.

Pro-Palestinian protester wins damages

A pro-Palestinian demonstrator has won damages against the police after her arm was broken during protests outside the Israel Embassy in west London three years ago.

High Court judge Mr Justice Eder awarded Kelly Minio-Paluello, 30, £14,303 for the injury sustained in a demonstration by 100-200 people against Israel's Cast Lead operation in Gaza in December 2008.

Stars fight Gaby's Deli closure

The stars have come out for Gaby's Deli, which is threatened by developers after serving falafel and salt beef to West End crowds for nearly 50 years.

Winning arts and minds for Israel

Culture Minister Ed Vaizey painted a glowing picture of Israeli arts supporters when he spoke at the British Friends of the Art Museums of Israel dinner.

Judges asked to rule on Beth Din's £1m arbitration

The High Court in London has been asked to enforce a decision of a Beth Din.

In December 2009, the north west branch of the Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations Beth Din awarded Gateshead businessman Jerry Fried more than £1 million, when it ordered company director David Zadok Baumgarten to pay Mr Fried £920,550.43.


Euston student centre to close
