The North London Raiders machine keeps rolling on, this weekend recording a 5-1 win over South Mancunians to extend their lead to five points. Dean Schulberg (2) Ashley Davidson, Danny Wolfson and Amir Wagenstein netted for Raiders, whilst Mark Powell countered for Mancs.
London Maccabi Lions A thumped Glenthorne A by the same score, with Adam Brand (2), Adam Lee, David Price and Andy Miller getting on the scoresheet for Lions, Eliot Mullish grabbing Glenthorne's consolation.
Brady Maccabi A beat Temple Fortune A 3-0 with goals from Scott Ansher and Perry Yam, to join the chasing pack. Fortune held last season's double winners at bay for approximately 65 minutes with a sterling effort. However, once the decisive first goal went in, it was always going to be a tall order with no recognised striker onboard. In the closing minutes, with Fortune chasing the game, Brady added two more to complete the victory.
Fortune boss Simon Allen said: "We did well for a good hour but once they scored it was a struggle. I would give us 10 out of 10 for effort but six out of 10 for keeping hold of the ball."
In Division 2, Brady B became the first team to get a point from leaders Norstar as Gary Field's late long-range shot cancelled out Ian Goldsmith's close range header.
Temple Fortune returned to form with an 8-2 demolition of Clayhall B, Robert Botkai (4), Steve Feiger (2), James Ryan and Gary Swerner all scoring for Fortune. Alan Woolf and Leon Pernikis replied for Clayhall.
A first-minute penalty from Ashley Marks helped Pel City pick up another valuable win against Ashlodge.
