Team England manager Gavin Stollar has named a 14-man squad for the forthcoming European Maccabi Football Trophy taking place in Madrid next month.
The delegation, led by JC MSFL chairman David Wolff, will see Oakwood EDRS A boss Stollar assisted by Alex
England will be up against Russia, Germany and Spain and Stollar has spoken of his pride of leading the team to the Spanish capital in the competition from May 1-4.
Placing an emphasis on youth in his squad, the former Marshside & Glenthorne manager said: “To represent your country is always an honour and to have Maccabi GB place their faith in Alex and myself is quite humbling.
“We have assembled what we consider to be a perfectly balanced squad. We have youth and experience and all positions covered with healthy competition for places.
“The squad is packed with winners and players who are relishing the opportunity to represent their country.
“With the squad I have at my disposal I am confident of bringing home some silverware. In addition, this tournament is a great opportunity for all involved to stake a claim for the Maccabiah in 2009 — something that without it would perhaps have been more difficult due to the limited opportunities for players to perform on the European stage.”
England is also sending a squad for the Masters futsal event where Germany, Portugal and Spain complete the line-up.
