A new £350,000, six-bedroomed unit at Donisthorpe Hall has been named in memory of the late Manny Cussins, the care home's former chairman and life-president.
Mr Cussins's daughter, Audrey Reuben, and son, John Cussins, performed the opening ceremony, unveiling a plaque at the entrance of the new unit, which was completed this summer.
Mrs Reuben said she was impressed with the new look of the home and praised the use of space in the latest suite of rooms. The new unit was partly funded by the Manny Cussins Trust.
John Cussins commented on the high-quality refurbishments made since his last visit some years ago and thought that his father would have been delighted.
Manny Cussins, a furniture retailer, was best known for his chairmanship of Leeds United Football Club between 1973-1983. He died in October 1987 at the age of 82.
