It is hardly surprising that the near universal reaction to the current crises in Israel's relations with Egypt and Turkey has been to blame Israel. When has anything not been held to be Israel's fault?
The breakdown in Turkish relations is Israel's fault, we are told; despite a UN report that backed Israel's right to defend itself. And Israel is to blame for the assault on its own embassy in Cairo because of the friendly-fire killing of five Egyptian soldiers. The fact this happened during an operation in which IDF troops were tracking down militants who had murdered eight Israeli civilians is simply ignored. When it comes to Israel, myopia always rules, and the story is only ever aggression by the Jewish state.
