Sheffield JSoc members have enjoyed a successful term of events, culminating with a visit to a film screening.
They watched Anita, a film about the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community centre in Argentina, which was shown as part of the UK Jewish Film Festival.
Events since January have included four Friday night Shabbat dinners hosted at Hillel House.
Rabbi Russ Shulkes, Yorkshire chaplain, organised a successful shawarma evening and a DIY sushi night.
The final JSoc dinner had a Chinese theme and attracted 16 guests. Future themed Shabbats will include an Indian night and a Moroccan night.
Students enjoyed a Purim party hosted by Sheffield Jewish Congregation's Rabbi Yonosan Golomb and his family, who also regularly host students at their own home over Shabbat.
Sarah Nerva, JSoc co-president, said the past term had seen a good spell of growth for the society.
She said: "Sheffield JSoc may still be small but we are growing fast and becoming a very active society."
The society's committee includes two co-presidents, a treasurer, a social secretary and a Shabbat officer.
