Jewish Apprentice contestant Alex Epstein has lived to fight another day - just.
Despite disagreements with Apollo team leader Paloma, the former King David pupil escaped being fired by Lord Sugar.
In a task which involved selling designer clothing to shoppers in Manchester’s Trafford Centre, he was put in charge of choosing the location for a promotional area. He chose an area some distance from the shop, causing friction with the rest of his team.
Karren Brady told him: “Unfortunately it wasn’t the best location.”
Apollo took £3223.43, losing by more than £500 to their opponents, Team Synergy. Alex was taken into the boardroom, after he said: “Paloma has met her match and will be fired today.”
His comment proved prophetic, as Paloma was eventually fired. Lord Sugar described her as “arrogant” and criticised her for “ganging up” on Alex.
He said: “It’s very easy to point the finger.”
Lord Sugar told Alex: “I get the feeling that you do rub people up the wrong way,” but added: “I think you’ve been set up, as the lackey.
“You may be b****y useless but I’m going to give you another chance.”
