South Manchester took a point from Manchester Falcons, the league leaders who had previously swept all before them, scoring 18 goals in four games.
The first half was a rugged affair with the best chance falling to Simon Davies who headed over when unmarked from a corner.
South had caused themselves problems losing the ball from a couple of their own set pieces but the back four stood firm.
The second half saw more attacking from both teams and only a fantastic defensive header from man of the match Darren Brewer kept South level.
South defence looked very solid throughout keeping the previously prolific Falcons attack very quiet.
Falcons continually chipped at the ref and it was no surprise when they were reduced to 10 men with 10 minutes remaining. By then South had lost Parry and Stratton to injury
South then created chances in the last few minutes for Joey Lazare and Marc Yaffe but both failed to hit the target.
All in all a creditable point that moves South to third spot but five points off the pace.
