Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park, London NW1
“With a hey, ho, the wind and the rain,” sings Clive Rowe’s sweet-voiced Feste as the rain lashed the stage of the Open Air Theatre.
The irony was not lost (how could it be?) on the audience who sat delighted and determined through the squalls, mopping up every enjoyable ingredient of Edward Dick’s starry production — including Janie Dee’s sexy but coy Olivia, Tim Woodward’s nice but stupid Sir Toby and Richard O’Callaghan’s Malvolio, a dead ringer for Enoch Powell and absolutely ripe for yellow-stockinged humiliation.
