Sunday saw a 10th win in 12 matches for MAL, as they took on GWR Trailfinders in a friendly in West Ealing.
Having been inserted, on a good-looking track and with the weather set fair, MAL looked to set a good total.
At the end of the 11th over with the score on 70-1, with Matt Shorts and Mark Landau going well, a total of upwards of 250 looked on the cards.
Both fell in quick succession, for 37 and 20, to leave MAL at 75-3. Jamie Breslaw and Yitzi Hill stabilised things with an enterprising stand of 53 in 11 overs before Hill was stumped for 22.
Leslie Allweis joined Breslaw, and the pair added 30, before Breslaw fell in identical fashion to Hill for a fantastic 54 off only 48 balls.
He was swiftly followed by debutant Joel Ross, and Klinger joined Allweis, attacking from the off. Once Allweis was dismissed for a scratchy 13 off 33 balls, Avi Nejad joined Klinger and and entertaining partnership of 30 took the score beyond 200, Nejad making 20 from 14 balls.
Klinger and Yoni Fidler took the score to 222-8 by the end of the allocated 40 overs, with Klinger unbeaten on 23 from just 17 balls.
After a fantastic tea, MAL took to the field to defend their total. Fidler and Landau bowled well early on but with GWR opener TJ looking to attack runs were flowing.
Landau managed to nip one back through the gate to bowl him, and shortly after trap Heath in front for six to leave GWR 40-2 in the 8th.
A solid partnership of 39 between Desai and Pillay meant the game was still on, but Michael Klinger found some good rhythm in tandem with Grant Traub and the pair picked up four wickets between them for just nine runs, Klinger being supported by some good catching by Joel Ross, Adam Katten, and Jamie Breslaw.
Shorts replaced Klinger, and after a couple of fruitless overs of seam he switched to off spin and was rewarded with two wickets of his own.
There was time for Landau to pick up a third, with Jamie Breslaw and Avi Nejad colliding but somehow managing to hold on to the catch.
GWR were all out for 116, with MAL's performance in the field being outstanding. It was good to see a number of debutants impress, and a great spirit out on the field.
MAL 222-8 (40 overs) Breslaw 54, Shorts 37
GWR Trailfinders 116 (35.3 overs) Pillay 42, Landau 3-26, Klinger 3-34, Shorts 2-9
