LEEDS SUNDAY ALLIANCE PREMIER DIVISION
BOJANGLES 1 LEEDS MACCABI 1st 12
Leeds Maccabi ended a two-game losing run with an emphatic 12-1 away win over Bojangles in the Leeds Sunday Alliance Premier Division.
With more or less a full-strength team to take to the field for the first time in a while, Leeds were back to their best and were fired up from the start.
Jordan Marks opened the scoring after only two minutes with a rifled shot that gave the home keeper no chance.
Five minutes later and it was 2-0 after the powerhouse of a centre back that is Elliot Jackson headed home from a corner.
Marks then scored a second after 15 minutes, with Adam Gilman scoring a trademark screamer to make it 4-0 after just 25 minutes. Marks then completed his hat-trick on the half hour mark with a header after some good work down the right from Oshri Amar.
A slight lapse in concentration allowed Bojangles to pull one back on the stroke of half time.
Leeds Maccabi started the second half as they did the first, at pace and with the central midfield pairing of Gilman and the impressive Kestenbaum controlling the play and spreading passes to the lively Leeds attack.
Nick Vale blasted home his first of a fine and well deserved hat trick to make it 6-1 with Richard Black, Daniel Seligman and a further two goals from man-of-the-match, Marks, to leave the final score 12-1 to Leeds Maccabi.
Leeds Maccabi manager Simon Marks said: "Scoreline aside, I am delighted with the attitude and performance of the team. We controlled the game from the start and played some great football.
"We defended as a unit and I thought the centre-half pairing of Elliot Jackson and Max Clynes were strong and solid throughout. Yoav Kestenbaum impressed on his debut and our attacking players certainly delivered today.
"This was a much-needed win given our recent results and the team is looking in better shape than it has done so far this season, due to the availability and quality of players that are now available to us."
