SOUTH MANCHESTER SPORTS CLUB 1st 6 PRICE WATERHOUSE 0
South Manchester eased to a 6-0 victory on Sunday against Price Waterhouse in the League Handicup.
Price Waterhouse have struggled in Division One this season and South Manchester wanted to make sure they didn't slip up again in the first round of the cup against lower league opposition.
Price Waterhouse started strongly in the first 10 minutes, but as soon as SMFC got their passing game going, Price Waterhouse struggled to contain the attacking quartet of Filson, Lavin, Spencer and Peppi.
The first goal came after great build-up play by Filson and was finished by Adam Jackson with a ricket of a finish into the top corner on the run.
Lavin then showed why he is the league's leading scorer with two sublime finishes and setting up Filson for his first senior goal of the season since his return to the set up.
4-0 at half time, SMFC came out firing in the second half and two goals from Ben Peppi finished the tie - the final goal was a brilliant move involving all 11 players.
The win sets up a nice quarter final tie against Miam Miam next week.
South Manchester manager Jody Marks told JC Sport: "I was delighted with the way we applied ourselves and, at times, our football was just a joy to watch.
"We will have to tougher games, but it's great to have a break from league action as we target an unprecedented quadruple.
"Next week we play Miam Miam who beat us 5-2 at the start of the season, but we go into the game on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run."
