HORSE RACING Vanilla Bally was this week attempting to become the first Israeli-bred thoroughbred to win a race in Britain. The filly, who until now has been ridden by Arab jockeys, was scheduled to run at Wolverhampton yesterday. Her debut was delayed by a series of colds and having won seven out of nine races in Israel, George Baker, her British trainer, was hoping that she could maintain her winning formula. Find out how she fared in her UK debut by logging on to www.thejc.com.
Update: Vanilla Bally finished last in the race. She missed the break when the stalls opened and as she recovered grund, received a hefty bump at the first turn, injuring her leg in the process.
